As someone who is able to kill a plant just by looking at it, I find these amazing. And even more gorgeous en masse in a chandelier style. If you check out design magazines, you will probably notice a few air plants - they’re quite trendy at the moment, and in this style it would look amazing in a mod setting.

If you’re not keen on using a map, you can use any kind of paper - newspaper, vintage music paper, scrapbooking paper… book pages! These would look great in a cluster of different sizes and different colours.
